As I have been travelling for a few months now, I thought I'd settle down a bit, so that you! can actually come and visit me. So, what have I done and seen so far? Well, I arrived in Sydney, where I spent 7 weeks with my cousin Rob in Bondi. Noes and I packed books, cd's and videos for a couple of weeks there. After Xmas, my birthday and New Years, I travelled to New Zealand. We -Noes, Mattijs & me - started off up north and ended on the South Island with Egrit, Joni, Sietze, Hjalmar, Marike en Joep. We had a great time, walking on glaciers and vulcanos, did skydiving, seakayakking, Milford Sound....and most importantly had a great time!!!!!!....Want je bent maar eenmaal jong, om 1000 keer (verliefd te zijn) do all the stuff you want to do. Back in Oz, I am staying with my auntie Pleun & uncle Fred in Geelong, I picked grapes at the Bannockburn Winery and at the moment I am typing modules for the Tafe College here. In a few weeks I'll be off to Alice Springs, Broome, Darwin and Queenslands and before I say goodbye to my family in Melbourne, I am going to Bali on the way back....to the Netherlands. But that's still 5 months away - so I'll keep you posted!

About my family, Holland and me
|
I was born in Baarn, grew up in Bunschoten (township of herring, paling, 'jan hagel', 't Stoepie en Holle Wout) and went to high school in Baarn. After that I spent a year as an au-pair, living in Madrid. Back in the Netherlands I moved to The Hague to study at the Hebo (Higher Institute of European Studies). I also got to study in Roubaix, Lille III for 5 months and did my internship at KPN Telecom, at their mobile telephone department. I mayored in Communication Management and graduated in June 1998.My brother Benjamin lives and studies in Amsterdam, belongs to Impera and works at 'De Lelie'. My parents still live in pittoresk Bunschoten and besides my grandma in Amsterdam, all my family lives in Australia. Okay travelling is great, but one thing remains true - You're not much if you're not Dutch - Amen!!!Best things about the Netherlands are: Koninginne Nach and Dag, krentebollen, Acda & De Munnick, Het Plein & de Westwood, patatje sat, real house (dance) music, and most of all 'gezellig kletsen met de meiden met een flesje Liebfraumilch/Ros of thee'. (I'm sorry it really is best in dutch)
